Why we exist

Mission & Vision

Threshing Floor Books was founded on a simple conviction: the faith that matters on Sunday is meant to be lived on Monday — in the meeting, the deal, the budget, and the hard call.

The name

Why “Threshing Floor”

In Scripture the threshing floor is where ordinary work and holy purpose meet. It’s where the harvest is separated — wheat from chaff, what lasts from what blows away. It’s where Ruth found redemption, where Gideon wrestled with God’s call, and where David built an altar on ground that would one day hold the temple.

It is a working place and a worshipping place at the same time. That intersection — the everyday labor of providing, deciding, and building, offered up as something sacred — is exactly what we publish about.

Work is not the thing we do until we can get to the real spiritual life. For most people, work is where the spiritual life gets lived.

Our Mission

To help working Christians live their faith where they spend most of their hours — the marketplace — through biblically grounded, genuinely practical resources for self-study, small groups, and the social platforms people are already on.

Our Vision

A generation of leaders, students, and entrepreneurs whose work is visibly shaped by Scripture: wise in decisions, honest in dealings, generous with what they build, and faithful in the long, unglamorous middle of a working life.

What guides us

What we believe about the work

Biblically grounded

We start with the text and take it seriously — including the hard sayings. No prosperity-gospel shortcuts, no verses bent to fit the point.

Genuinely practical

Theology that never reaches Tuesday morning isn’t finished. Every study ends with something real to do.

For the whole marketplace

Business leaders, students, and entrepreneurs — men and women — all need wisdom for the work in front of them.

Built for community

The work goes deeper with other people. Our studies are made to be done alone or around a table, no special edition required.

Honest about hard seasons

Faithful work includes grief, failure, waiting, and doubt. We don’t rush past them; we make room for them.

Wisdom over hype

We’d rather hand you something true and durable than something loud. The threshing floor keeps the wheat.

See it in the books

The Biblical Wisdom at Work Series is where this mission takes shape — one volume, thirty days, one part of the working life at a time.
